    The School of Economics and Management at Ningxia University invites applications for Assistant Professor (tenure-track), tenured Associate Professor, and Full Professor positions. We welcome applicants from all fields.

    Ningxia University is a public research university with campuses in Yinchuan (the capital city of Ningxia), China. It is directly administrated by the Education Ministry of China and is supported by the "211 Project". Having received multiple fundings from various sources and the support of the Education Ministry of China, NXU has experienced very fast growth in recent years and is still growing rapidly. It is the largest university in the region by faculty, students enrollment, area, and by endowment and funding. It also has the best student quality in the region, measured by the College Entrance Exam Scores.

    The School of Economics and Management has 106 full-time employees, among which 90 are faculty members. It has a student body of roughly 2400 (including undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. students). The school has four academic departments: economics, business administration, accounting, and agricultural and forest economics. The school grants degrees range from Ph.D., Master's in Economics, MBA, MPAcc, to various undergraduate majors and minors offered by the four departments. The economics major offered by the school is the recipient of the "First-Class Research Field Initiative" which is administrated by the provincial government. Moreover, The School of Economics and Management is the host of the 2017 China Economics Annual Conference which will be held in Yinchuan in October 2017.

    Yinchuan is a city of two million population, located between the Helan Mountains and the Yellow River. It is considered a very livable and friendly city and offers a wide variety of amenities. It is also far less congested and polluted than most provincial capitals in China. Like NXU, Yinchuan is also experiencing breakneck growth in recent years.


    1. REQUIREMENTS:

    Candidates for all positions must have acquired a Ph.D. degree in Economics or Management by the time of employment. Candidates of ABD standing are welcome to apply. Applicants for tenured positions should show evidence of capability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

    2. SALARY AND BENEFITS:

    We offer competitive salaries that are commensurate with each position with flexible contract options (candidates could negotiate the length of their contracts - 4 years or longer). The benefits also include comprehensive health care and state pension.

    (a) For accomplished/renowned professors (e.g. with multiple publications in top journals or field top journals), NXU offers an annual salary above 1,000,000 RMB with a 20,000,000 RMB research funding, and 2,000,000 RMB one-time settlement fee (the exchange rate between USD and RMB is roughly 6.9 RMB for $1)

    (b) For tenured professors that are able to carry out high-quality research, the annual salary is above 500,000 RMB, and the research funding is 1,000,000 RMB with a 1,500,000 RMB one-time settlement fee.

    (c) For assistant professors, we offer a salary that is no lower than 300,000 RMB with a 100,000 RMB research funding. The one-time settlement fee for junior faculty varies between 200,000 and 500,000 RMB.
